Winter Break 2011 is HERE ♡

Alright. Here's an update on the events that happened within the last 3 weeks or so:
1. I had my audition for the Central Jersey Music Education Association (CJMEA) thingy.

2. I made it into the Wind Ensemble (they only accepted four flutes, and I was the third)

3. The last two weeks, I had a lot of tests and projects due for different classes all within a week of each other. It was horrendous.

4. Friday was the last day of school in 2011--We had a half day, so each of our classes were shortened to forty-five minutes. I got to miss about half of first period, all of second period, and half of third period, because I had to perform in the Wind Ensemble for the in-school concert/listen to the Chamber Orchestra (with Orchestral Winds) perform a really long song. The song was pretty good though, I didn't fall asleep. ^.^

5. Yesterday, Christmas Eve, I went to an Asian party in Princeton and met up with family friends. I ate a lot of foood and hung out with people >.> I really wish we had more Asian parties, there was one year where one of the family friends each hosted one each day, and that was fun.

Anyway, today is Xmas! Yayyy... This morning, I woke up at 9, which is pretty good, considering I went to bed around 2am, and I got to open presents. From family friends, I got $30 from amazon.com and $30 in a debit card (ooh deeeebit caaaard $.$ ^.^ haha), and from my parents, I got a sweater, a pair of boots, and a camera.

Sweater: Aeropostale, red knit
Boots: Michael Kors, tall black suede with a 2-inch heel
Camera: Olympus E-PL1.

So yeah, pretty excited about that.

December 2011 Pokémon Profile Picture Month

So, this is the one I chose this year :)

SHO CAYUTE~

Hehe ^.^

I don't know, last year I made a big deal and started drawing pokemon randomly due to some peoples' requests... But this year, I probably am not going to do that. I mean, I guess I probably have a lot more work to do, but honestly, I just don't feel like it anymore. I'm a sophomore... And I guess that shouldn't stop me from trying to have fun, but honestly I feel like such a loner all the time, when I'm not in school. When I'm in school, I'm like a wild animal with my friends. Well, as wild an animal I could possibly be without getting into trouble (although I had dropped the F-Bomb in front of my PreCalculus teachers that one time I was yelling at Alina for returning my Christmas gift to her for last year's Christmas). I don't know... I don't do any extracurricular in school, and I don't hang out with friends on weekends. I doubt all of my friends really hang out that often, but probably more than I do. The only social event that I've been to so far this year is Homecoming. Hopefully I'll be able to go to Coffeehouse next week (But I'd only go if like Mrs. Arizona, Po, or Sheila are going). Yes, I just used code names for my bffls :) Haha

Anyway... No makeup stuff today. I just didn't have the energy to look through YouTube (which got a new look yesterday) and MakeupAlley to see the next big thing for makeup. I left my gym bag in school, and I had to miss my bus home to look for it. Fortunately, my mom had a day off today and was able to pick me up. But eversince I got home, I was just really tired. I guess it's what happens when you only sleep for about five to six hours every night for five days in a row. Last year I complained about only having six hours, but now it sometimes goes to five. Sigh~ That' the nature of high school, I guess. If you're a compulsive person like I am.

There are exactly fourteen more school days until Christmas right now. I should probably decide what I want. I'll make a list of things I want this year, I guess. Maybe on Monday. But I really can't wait. I mean, even if vacation is only 8 days this year, it's better than no vacation. Sigh, why can't we have a longer vacation like kids in California, where it doesn't even snow? T.T Ah well.

The Catcher in the Rye-- Holden is SO annoying.

It's amazing. I thought I was going to like Holden, because he seemed like he was the type of person to hate phonies. Turns out, he's the most annoying "goddam sunovabitch bastard" I've ever read about. Things that annoy me include his repetitiveness, his profane language, and the idea that the world is a phony. Ugh.

Daily Cravings:
Today, it's all Maybelline! :)
  • Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush:
Peach Satin (peachy), Pink Frosting (cooler pink), and Plum Blush (darker)-- It's apparently really creamy, and blends easily after you dab only a little bit on your face. It seems cool, and like something I would want.
  •  Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation:
Supposedly really creamy as well in texture. It has a pump, which is good. I just discovered that my skin is not as oily as I thought it was (only somewhatly in my T-Zone, but not much), so I could say that I have normal to combination skin, which other people say is good for this type of foundation.

I just realized. I lied. There's one more thing that's not from Maybelline, and that's the
  • NYX Slide On Pencils, in Pure White (second to last), Glitzy Gold (only gold one), Platinum (metallic one next to white), Tropical Green(darkest green), Azure (lightest blue), Sunrise Blue (darker blue next to lightest blue), and Purple Blaze (right side purple). They're $8 each, so if I get all... seven of them, that would be about $56. Yay. -__- Ah well.
Anyway, gotta go read Catcher in the Rye and write quotes. And study for chem test tomorrow. Later~

Three Paragraph Essay

Well, today I took another AP U.S. History test. It was... Not too bad.
The thing is, though, I had literally 20 minutes to write a 4-5 paragraph essay which is being evaluated against an AP scale for grading essays. After thinking about it for about 5 minutes, I started writing. So the actual physical writing time I got was approximately fifteen minutes. So, instead of a four or five paragraph essay, I was only able to write three. I wonder what my teacher is going to think...

The actual Multiple Choice section really wasn't that bad. I could guess my way through a lot of them (Either the questions are a lot easier than they were in the beginning of the year, or I'm just getting more used to taking these AP tests). Either way.

Daily Cravings:
A new mascara. The ones I am currently looking to buy are:
  • L'Oreal Clean Definition Telescopic
  • L'Oreal Voluminous
  • Maybelline Full n' Soft
  • Maybelline Lash Stiletto Ultimate Length
  • Rimmel Glam Eyes Lash Flirt
Lastly: Purple eyeliner, to bring out brown eyes :)

Her eyes would be stunning, if she wasn't wearing circle lenses

♡ November Wishlist 2011--Milani

Alrighty, another wishlist! I'm thinking of Christmas gifts that I want this year, but for now, I will be posting makeup products that I want~
Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso

From Milani:
Baked Blush in Luminoso

This is a shimmery blush, but it's peachy, so it's not too "pink". No, I do not have this product, since this is a "Wishlist" Post, but I have done my research, which includes photos, video reviews, and other blog posts. As you can see in this photo, it's shimmery, but when you put it on, it isn't as shimmery as what you think (which is good, because I'm okay with a little shimmer, but not too much).
Milani Mineral Blush in Luminous
Mineral Blush in Luminous
This blush was said to be a dupe for the NARS blush in Orgasm, and is highly raved about. I think it's a nice pretty color, and a little more fun than the previous blush. I'd probably wear the Luminous in the spring, whereas I'd wear the Luminoso in the fall (which is now! ish. I mean, it's almost December, but I'd still wear it anyway, if I had it ^.^).

I hope I'm going to be able to find these blushes. It is said that only CVS carries the Milani brand. Before I talk about the last Milani product that I want, I'd like to say that these are about $6-$7, and are probably worth it.

Liquif Eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil

The last Milani product that I really want is the Milani Liquif Eye Liner. I really wish they had a purple eyeliner (I researched that brown eyes really pop with purple eyeliner), but according to my research, these liners are the equivalent of high end brands (like Urban Decay) and is really pigmented, creamy, and smooth. Also, it has about 5 hours of staying power. The current eyeliner pencil I have is 1. requires about 5 swipes to get good pigmentation, 2. is tiny, 3. really dry, and 4. wears off after less than 1 hour.

So yeah, I need a new eyeliner. And this one is, again, a drugstore product, so it's probably cheap, but really good quality.

Updations on LIFE

Well, it's been a while since I updated before a few days ago, which was just me reminding the world that I am a girl. Lawl. >.>

Anyway. Sophomore year. Swag. Something we Asians got. I just learned this acronym like last week. I thought, personally, that my life as a sophomore was going to be really simple. I was only taking ONE AP class (while a lot of my other friends are taking two, or only taking AP Chem or AP U.S. History). I was taking AP U.S. History and only Honors Chemistry. To be quite honest, I'm working on Chem RIGHT NOW. Why? Because I had a 68% as my MP1 Grade. Yeah.

Let me first explain something about my teacher. She is from a Beijing, China (Tsinghua University), which, according to my dad, is one of the top schools in China. And you know how China is. Asians. SMART PEOPLE. Everywhere. Kind of. (Well, more smart people than other countries). And when she came to America, she went to Columbia to get her Ph.D. I will probably never have a smarter teacher in my life.

However, coming into Honors Chemistry, I've heard from the people a year older than me that: 1. Since she taught AP Chem last year, a lot of people failed. And 2. Chemistry honors is about 4/9 as hard as AP Chem. So, coming into Sophomore year, I expected chem to be an easy A.

Then. Bah-BAYUM. I have this extremely smart and difficult AP teacher who, by the way, no longer teaches AP. When I first saw her on my schedule, I was like Oh my God. Not "omg", I said "Oh my God". I've heard horror stories about her, and she is now my teacher for the sophomore year. On the second day of school (Since I have her on B Days), I met her. She let us do this "ice breaker" activity, where we play Two Truths and One Lie. So here I am thinking, wow, the upperclassmen have fooled me again. For the next class onward for two weeks, we had to go and learn "Unit 0", which was about significant figures, scientific notation, and graphing. Which is easy.

HOWEVER. I get a 66% on the Unit 0 test. IT TURNS OUT that when she asks us to use significant figures, she wants the WHOLE PROCESS of finding the answer to be in the CORRECT significant figure. I didn't really have trouble with scientific notation, but even with graphing, she took off points because I didn't use significant digits when I found the slope of this best-fit line, and didn't write a title of the graph. Etc.

I could go on and on about chem, but I really don't want to.

Hmm... I think I should randomly say my schedule:
A Days:
  1.  AP U.S. History
  2. Physical Education
  3. Mandarin II
  4. PreCalculus
B Days:
  1. Chemistry Honors
  2. Wind Ensemble
  3. Study Hall
  4. English 10 Honors
AP U.S. History is a whole different ball game. I only got a 90% average last year in World Studies, which was a really fun class because my teacher was a really good teacher and the tests were really easy. Also, I was coming into AP U.S. History just because my friend told me that it's "the easiest AP class you can possibly take".

We took an essay on the second day of class about Rise to Rebellion, a book that I managed to finish the day before, even if I was supposed to finish it over the summer. I got a 60% on it, probably the lowest grade in the entire class. He graded it not based on writing skills, but if you included EVERY PART of the question that MOST PEOPLE overlooked. So a lot of people got 70s because they didn't include this SPECIFIC part of the question. However, my teacher didn't think that the colonists burning down Governor Tom Hutchinson's house was considered a "main event" that worsened the relationships between the British and the Colonists, which ultimately lead to the Revolutionary War and Independence. -__-

It's also really frustrating because I didn't go trick or treating this year because I stayed home and studied for an APUSH test, and only got a 74% on it.

I got a 79% in the first marking period of APUSH. SO CLOSE TO A B. T.T I can't believe I'd be happy with a B. APUSH IS RUINING MY LIFE. Within the first two weeks, I was considering dropping out of chemistry honors and APUSH. However, I persuaded myself not to, because I'm not a quitter. ^.^ This can be a good AND a bad quality of mine, because it also means I don't know when to quit when I should. Ah well.

Otherwise, everything else is fun. I usually play cards with my friends in Study Hall on B days. Except for a few days ago where I had to do these notecards (30 due, I did 15 but lost all of them so I had to redo everything) and spent all of lunch and 30 minutes into study hall finishing them. Which is pretty amazing, I have to say. I had never worked so diligently on anything in my life. EVER. Well, maybe not "ever", but not very often has such an event happened. Even my friends were impressed. Lol...

Yeah. School rant/update.

♡ October 2011 Wishlist ♡

As most people know, 11/11/11 at 11:11 has recently passed. It's hard to believe I've been waiting for that day since 2008... But back then, my wishes that I made every day at 11:11 am/pm were about doing well in school, getting over my first crush, and being the best flutist in the school. Wow. To be completely honest, I was really procrastinating what my wish was going to be. 11/11/11 comes once in a lifetime! Unless I happen to live up to be 115 years old. I was torn between being happily married eventually and being successful in life.
~~
Anyway, here's a wishlist of the material-items I want:
1. Sigma Sigmax Brushes
It's funny. I want these makeup brushes, yet I don't even use makeup. But I've just watched so many reviews about them, and what I've got from them was that they are soft, dense, and really good quality for about 16 dollars each. These are the Flat Top (for liquid Foundation), Round Top (For Liquid, Cream, and Powder products), and Angled Top (Blush and Contouring) Kabukis. I also want a powder brush ($19). Me and my neediness.

2. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters
Starting from the second shade: Strawberry Shortcake, Peach Parfait, and Creme Brulee

Berry Smoothie and Sweet Tart are two other shades that I want. Hehe... They are very highly talked about on youtube at this point. They are basically tinted moisturizers with really good pigmentation. Also can be thought of as really glossy and moisturizing lip sticks. Considering the fact that each is about $7, and I want five of them... Yeah, I wouldn't pay that kind of money ($35, for you math fans out there) for the same lip product in different colors.
3. Tall dark brown suede boots
Yeah, I just think a dark, chocolately brown would really slim down my legs. And the long boots would not only be warm and cozy but also lengthening on my calves. Also, the suede, in my opinion, gives the boots a more elegant feel. I'm not going to lie; UGG boots don't particularily appeal to me in appearance, but they definitely got something right: The suede outer material.
This specific pair of boots is is from Vera Wang, and costs about $350. Yay... There is absolutely no way I am going to get any of this stuff lol.
Anyway, my appologies to my readers out there. I haven't updated in a whole four months (I've been meaning to since my Birthday arrived a few months ago). Life as a sophomore is kind of hard, I'm not going to lie. I thought I'd go easy with not taking two APs like the rest of my friends, but my Chemistry teacher is legitimately killing me softly. Yet she's like one of the nicest AND smartest teachers I know. The drama is not really heating up (But I'm not really provoking any), and I sort of just want to concentrate on school. And obsess over makeup brushes, lip butters, and boots. ♡
Oh, and P.S. I'm going to rename my blog. Still brainstorming, though. ^.^
