Pretty Picture

I was looking through deviantart and came across this picture--------->

IT'S SO PWETTYYY!! ><
I'm trying to replicate it right now, but I know it wouldn't turn out nearly as nice as this one. Goshdarnit, if only I could take art as well as band...

Or, if I went to Chinese school and took art lessons there... Or better yet, if my mom finally got me those art lessons she promised me 6 years ago... Ah well. Enjoy the pic! It's by ~illogan (Find Your Fun).

SOO PWETTYYY.

R&J Rant

Hiyaa! I haven't been updating recently, mostly because midterms are coming up. But, I will spend a decent amount of time today writing this blog entry. Today's is about Romeo and Juliet. With a little bit of ranting on English/my English teacher and other misc. stuff. :)

~~
Alrighty, so we're reading Romeo and Juliet in English right now. Yippee! I was dreading reading it initially, for when everyone else read The Merchant of Venice, another Shakespearean play, our team (Team B) did not actually read the Shakespearean language. However, when we started reading R&J in class, it wasn't that bad. Plus, I saw the 1996 version up to the balcony scene, so I knew pretty much what was going on... Yeah...

That's pretty much the good thing. Plus it being not as boring as I had expected, and the plot to be okay-ish. However, here are the list of the CONS of my English class in general:

1. We have an essay to write about it, due tomorrow
2. Our English teacher is so biased against what my essay is about. She thinks everything that happened was because of fate, while I think that the decisions of all the characters ultimately lead to the ending on the story
3. Eh... Midterms are gonna be brutal, especially with Romeo and Juliet. Plus, I didn't even read Great Expectations.

Romeo and Juliet... I have a problem with how it's NOT FATE that decides their fortunes. I mean, it's all cause and effect. The only reason Juliet dies is because Romeo kills himself. And the only reason Romeo kills himself is because he THOUGHT Juliet died. And the only reason he thought Juliet died was that Juliet drank this potion that was going to make her wake up anyway. I mean COME ON, Romeo didn't HAVE to kill himself, he even said "Death may take the honey from thy lips but has not yet any effect on thy beauty", which means JULIET IS GOING TO WAKE UP GOSH DARNIT.

And I mean, Mercutio didn't HAVE to challenge Tybalt, who kills Mercutio, and is slain by Romeo. Just because Mercutio was being stupid, that causes Romeo to kill Tybalt. But really, Romeo didn't HAVE to kill Tybalt. "O, I am fortune's fool!" Damn right you are, Romeo... If you didn't kill Tybalt, you wouldn't have to flee, and if Tybalt were still alive, Lord Capulet wouldn't have forced Juliet to marry Paris.

And even BEFORE that, if that servant sent by Lord Montague knew how to EFFING READ WORDS OFF A LIST, and not have Romeo come to the party, then he wouldn't have met Juliet and NONE OF THE TROUBLE WOULD HAVE STARTED. I mean seriously. It's Capulet's fault for choosing the ONLY. EFFING. SERVANT. WHO. CANNOT. READ.

Physics With My Dad

So... I'm failing physics.

I currently have a 24% average in physics. So it's not an Asian fail. It's legit fail.

My dad, because he cares for me oh-so-much, has decided that I will be studying physics 'til midnight for a lot of school nights. Like last night... And I missed the bus this morning. Yeah.

The worst part is that his physics "lessons" don't really teach me anything. I mean, most of the time, he has me guessing the answers, and then I see it fit, but I'd have to gues what to do before I plug it in, and about 90% of the time, my guess is always wrong.

My mom made a really good analogy of how my dad teaches me:

You cannot ask an illiterate to tell you the alphabet. You cannot just say, "A to Z. What's in between?" you have to TELL him, and help him understand.

Let's just say... If we were to translate this case, I'm the illiterate, the alphabet is physics, and my dad pretty much just says, "Physics. How do you do it?" and has me guessing. Fail...

Anyway, my parents found out I am currently failing today. I mean, I knew I did bad on the test, but I didn't think I would've gotten a 0/5, a 1/5, and a 2.6/5. The average of all 3 got my average of the class to be a 24%. Joy... And they would've forgiven me if I told them I actually had a test, and I had studied more during winter break, but now even my mother has turned against me.

The only way to have me not fail is if I ace the midterms (which, as anyone who knows Jill would know, is almost impossible), because according to my dad, the Physics Board or whatever decided not to allow reassessments anymore, even though I understand most of what my dad is teaching about the @$$essment I failed.

So, tomorrow is a snow day. Guess what I will be doing tomorrow, ALL DAY?

... I could cry just thinking about it.

More Drama! :D/-.-/>:(

If you couldn't tell, the ":D" in my status was sarcastic. DRAMA. SUX. Especially rumors.

So, apparently Ellie thinks Nate and I are going out, though we show no signs of liking-ness nor going-out-ness. I JUST ASK HIM FOR HELP ON PHYSICS. And pour other drama onto him and wait for him to tell me that drama in high school is stupid. But that's mostly because he's Alina's friend, and I have decided to befriend him so we can share friendiness with Alina.

Anyway, apparently Ellie is telling people "Nate and Jill are going out!" I mean wtf lol. Not that there's anything wrong with Nate, but like... C'mon, why don't you start rumors about anyone else? The only thing that Nate and I have in common is that we're:
  1. semi-ly smart/nerdy/geeky
  2. both in band
  3. play soccer...

Yeah, that's all I can think of at the moment. Even Kevin W... "Aww you two would make a cute couple!" AGHAOWEIFJSDLKFJOQW$(@#)%IRSDKFJKXCMLQ...

So yeah. It's not like I have anything against Nate, but I really don't want people thinking we're dating. T.T

Happy New Year!

Okay, so it's New Year's! First post of 2011! :)

Over the break, I had a bunch of fun. For everything I did during Xmas and before, see the previous post. After xmas, I saw Tangled with friends, went skiing with a family friend, and hung out at home. Pretty good break!

On New Year's Eve, I went with my family to a family friend's house (the same family we went skiing with). They had GOAT CHEESE which tasted ahhmazing. Legit. I had so much appetizers (3 different types of cheese cubes and that goat cheese yumminess) that I got a stomachache for the rest of the time. Ah well. It was worth it. We also played scattergories and scrabble. :D

Counting down to the New Year was interesting... When they showed 50 seconds of the year 2010 left, memories suddenly started flashing in my mind. It was weird. Starting from Jan 1st, 2010. I left the Asian party, and knew I wouldn't see a specific someone for a long time. JustWondering drama. Then I get over JustWondering. Then Astatine drama. Then AC Drama. Then Computer drama. Then Hershey Trip (<3). Then the end of school. Then summer. Beach soccer. Mall trip. Summer school. Elizabeth moves away... China, and then the start of High school. Excitement and nervousness. Then the realization that high school is going to be a lot harder than Middle school. Then the realization that high school really isn't that bad. Thanksgiving. More school. Then formspring drama. Then Winter break. Then New Years. Wow. Lots of fragments. :D

That all flashed in my mind for about 40 seconds. When we were counting down TEN, NINE, EIGHT, SEVEN... I was thinking, What is my New Year's Resolution? THREE, TWO, ONE.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

~~~
On the downside, the next day was completely devoted to Physics, the class that no one cares about except for my dad. I stayed up 'til 11:30 doing physics and ended up sleeping at 12. That explains my dark circles today, btw. And yeah.
I hope this year will be a good one. :]
