Christmas

Merry Xmas Everyone!~
Yep, I really don't care about being politically correct, or not, but I just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas--I mean, it IS December 25th, whether you naggers want to admit it or not.

Today, I was super excited in the morning to open gifts. I got a new webcam, a pair of Coach gloves, and a box of seven 500 to 1,000 piece puzzles that will keep me entertained during the summer.

My dad also took me to see TRON: Legacy in 3D, which was pretty awesome. My sister didn't want to go because she thought it'd be stupid, but it was SOO GOOD. Oh my gosh. It was only after the movie had ended had I realized that my heart was pounding super fast... Oh my gosh it was awesome...

Also, my grandaunt and granduncle came over to have dinner with us. My mom cooked crabcakes, duck (with a wrap), crab legs, rice cake, cheese sticks, Korean BBQ, shrimp, soup, and a lot of other yummy stuff. :D I love my mom's food. I also tried some Sake--Japanese rice wine that, according to Michelle Phan, is really good for your skin.

So yeah, there's my Christmas. I hope everyone else has had a good one too! :)

New York City Trip

Today, my family and I went to New York City. We've been here almost every year for the time around xmas to visit the Rockefeller Center and Times Square and such.

This year, we went to the Restaurant called East--A Japanese Food Restaurant. The. Food. Was. Yummiful. :D

We roamed around Times Square and went to the Rockefeller Center. We also went to the Saks Avenue to look at the extremely expensive stuff. Here is a pair of Purple Burberry Earmuffs that I didn't get to buy, no matter how much I wanted to:OMG I WANT! T.T

Anyway, later we went to the Madison Square Garden, aka MSG (which is another acronym for monosodium glutamate, which is what you put in your soups to make it taste better, though it makes you thirsty... Yes. This happens a lot in the soups in China). We saw Wintuk. OMG IT WAS SO COOL.
There was singing and stuff in the beginning, and cool tricks that had juggling, trampolineing, bouncy balls, skateboards, bike tricks, dancing, huge birds, snow dogs, and a cool battle scene--pretty fake, but at the same time cool. Lots of other stuff too, but I can't really put it all down, you should see the show. In my opinion, Mystique and O were better, Mystique being the best. However, it did start snowing at the end, which was pretty awesome.

Overall, this Christmas Eve was pretty fun. :)

Flute Incident

Okay, so yesterday, I left my flute in school.
Yep.
I'm so smart...

It all started when I was in the band room during lunch, exchanging gifts with my lunchtablemates. I got my instrument, but didn't open it and put it together, because this was the last time I got time to spend with my friends before the break. After the bell rang, and 8th period started, I went to the band room office, where Mr. K, Mr. W, and Mr. M usually were, to
1. drop of my chocolate reindeers from Lindt (3, because there are 3 band teachers).
2. ask Mr. K if we were going to play.

He replied "Nah, we only have like 25 minutes anyway for this class", so I told everyone and we were all happiful! I put my flute at my chair and Alina shared my seat using her iPod to play songs on my new iPod speakers made out of a cardboard skittle box. We played Christmas songs and Kiss the Rain by Yiruma. When the bell rang and we were listening to that song I was like "Psh, why are we listening to such a sad song?" Took my Skittle Speakers and shoved it into a bag. I got all my stuff, and left the band room.

Well, I left my flute behind, but I didn't realize that until later.

I went, talked to people in our usual blob of Asians, though it usually contains the main Asian group and I'm usually on the side. Ah well.

I walked to the buses, and see Daniel. We talk for like 10 seconds before he gets onto his bus about if he's gonna be going to this Asian party.

I get on the bus. Noah Petraske is in my seat, so I sit on the inside, since he gets off before me. When it's my stop, I get all my things. But oh no! Where the hell was my flute? Ugh, mom's not gonna be happy about this.

I get inside, greet my dog, take him for a walk, and go on the computer. My mom comes home after a few hours later, but I don't tell her right away. She then takes a nap. I wait/clean my room.

My dad comes home. We have dinner. I go upstairs and ask Sanjana how I should deal with the situation. She tells me to go to my dad, say, "Daddy, can you drive me to school right now?" "Uh, why?" "I forgot my flute there" . I decide to do it, except my dad is waxing the countertop. So, I go to my mom instead.

^That, is where the plan failed.

My mom was yelling at me in the car for the whole 10 minutes that we were going there.

"I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU"
"YOU REALLY DID IT THIS TIME"
"I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU"
"YOUR LUCK IS GOING TO RUN OUT"
"I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU"
"IT'S NOT GOING TO BE THERE"
"I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU"
"YOU RUINED CHRISTMAS FOR EVERYONE"

^Yes, I noticed I said "I cannot believe you" like 3 times, but she said it like 20 times, so whatever...

When we get there, the main doors are locked, but fortunately, there's a basketball game going on! So, we ask one of the little kids near the door across the gym. We walked into a custodian who was there, so she walked with us to the band room, just in case it was locked. So, we crossed the commons and into the band room area. Fortunately, the band room wasn't locked, and I found my flute in the lost in found of the band room.

We left, and on the way back, my mom was calm, and asked me how school went. Wow. I had to REMIND HER that she yelled at me on the way there. -.-

So yeah. That's the incident.

Elizabeth's Orange + Updations

This picture reminded me of Elizabeth (I was just on deviantart a few minutes ago and came across this...). She told me she wanted an orange pillow with a cute face on it, so if I ever manage to have time to sew an orange, I guess this'll be the face I'm going to put on it. Yep! :) I miss her :'( craziness, funnyness, and how she is carefree about how others think of her.

AGH SO MANY THINGS HAPPENING THIS WEEK! :D

Winter break is just around the corner, and I absolutely can't wait. We've been counting down our days since Thanksgiving haha to winter break and from 4 more weeks, it's now only half of a day before we don't have to go to school anymore. FREEDOMMM. XD
Stuff that happened/is happening this week:
  • Secret Santa gift-giving (I gave my gift to Dima--A CD with Disney Pixar songs from Cars, Toy Story, Ratatouille, and Monster's Inc.) and another Secret Santa for my lunch table
  • WINTER BREAK SOON :OO
  • Bought more gifts randomly for friends
  • Interesting Germany vs. Austria discussion in World Studies today
  • Band concerts today
  • Party in Mandarin class today, because Marco is leaving for Argentina :(
  • Getting a haircut tonight :]

So, yep. Can't wait for all of these things to happen! And I loved Secret Santa, it's so fun! :)

Lit Mag--The Mind's Amaranth

Hi... Sorry I haven't updated in a while, I was busy over the weekend.

Anyway, I'm thinking about submitting something to the LitMag (some drawing). But as I was flipping through the pages of last year's Mind's Amaranth, I realized how amateurish my drawings were... And that if I were to submit something, I'd be like, super legit about it. I was thinking of drawing a flautist, to show my band geekiness, but I'm not sure if I should, because it's supposed to show not only detail, but something a little deeper (at least, that's what it seemed like in last year's LitMag). So... Any suggestions?

Hot Chocolate + Marshmallows = Everlasting and Amaranthine Love

Hai, world.
As most of you know, everyone loves hot chocolate! :) It's chocolate... And it's HOT! :D *winkwink.

And there's a game that's pretty funny called Chubby Bunny. I've always meant to play it with Alina on video chat, but couldn't earlier because:
1. lack of video chat
2. lack of marshmallows

Unfortunately, it is true; I haven't had marshmallows in years. All my hot chocolate that I drink is so lonely every morning :'( Ah well. In the mean time, enjoy this picture of a random kid playing chubby bunny (The other pictures were quite disgusting, so this guy only had like 2 marshmallows...):

No, unfortunately, he is not Asian, but whatever. He still looks pretty funny playing Chubby Bunny! :)

Now, some miscellaneous information about hot chocolate:
  • Chocolate was originally a Mayan invention
  • It symbolized life, fertility, health, and royalty
  • Original hot chocolate did not have sugar, but the explorer Cortez added cocoa powder and sugar to create the hot chocolate we know and love today.
And some about Marshmallows:
  • Americans buy 90 million pounds of marshmallows each year, about the same weight as 1,286 gray whales.
  • Each summer, more than 50% of all marshmallows sold are toasted over a fire
  • The largest s'more ever made weighed 1,600 lbs. and used 20,000 toasted marshmallows and 7,000 chocolate bars.
Oh, and to make Alina happy:

Hot chocolate and marshmallows BELONG together.
Now go make yourself a cup and try to endure the few more days we have until winter break. :)

Winter Loooooooooooveeeeeeeeee

Plus, I'm in the mood for winter and such, since winter break starts next week. SO PSYCHED. :D

I've decided that some may find these pictures uninteresting. Well, this first one is mostly for those sappy/mushy romanticists out there who absolutely love romance and such. I personally like the picture, mostly because its during winter time, and "Dawn Uzumaki" of the most romantic dream scene of winter. Mine was a cold winter afternoon at a park of some sort. The guy, whomever he may be, will wipe snow off of a park bench for the two of them to sit and keep warm, admiring the winter's first snow together.

Her's was that a guy and her would be in a house in front of a fireplace drinking hot chocolate and cuddling and whatnot. All romantic, in my opinion. :)

I like this picture of candles and stuff... Just because candles are awesome! They burn stuff >:) lol well... True, but I mostly like them because they're pretty and they are used when the power goes out. And they're fragrant. :)
